A series of injuries involving some of Telugu cinema’s biggest stars has disrupted shooting schedules and forced producers to revise their production plans.
In recent weeks, Jr NTR, Ram Charan, Nandamuri Balakrishna and Rashmika Mandanna have all suffered injuries while working on their respective projects, affecting production timelines across the industry.
Jr NTR sustained a shoulder injury during the shoot of Dragon and has reportedly been advised to take complete rest for six weeks. As a result, the production schedule has been adjusted. However, the film’s June 2027 release is not believed to be under threat, as the team still has enough time to complete the remaining portions.
Ram Charan recently underwent wrist surgery and is currently recovering through rehabilitation. Although he is not actively shooting for a film at present, the launch of his next project with director Sukumar has reportedly been postponed until he fully recovers.
Nandamuri Balakrishna is also recuperating after undergoing knee surgery following an injury on the sets of NBK111. Doctors have reportedly advised him not to resume shooting until he completes rehabilitation and undergoes a final medical assessment in September.
This means Balakrishna is unlikely to return to work before October, delaying the film’s production and possibly pushing its release to 2027.
Rashmika Mandanna is the latest star to join the list. She reportedly suffered a serious hip injury while filming demanding dance and action sequences for Ranabaali and Mysaa. She has reportedly been advised six weeks of complete rest, followed by rehabilitation.
Her injury is expected to affect the shooting schedule of Mysaa, although the film’s release had already been postponed earlier for reasons unrelated to her health.
With several top stars temporarily sidelined, production houses are now revising their shooting calendars to accommodate the unexpected delays.
While most of the affected films are expected to resume once the actors recover, the injuries have once again highlighted how a single setback can disrupt carefully planned production schedules.
