Ravi Teja’s Irumudi held its trailer launch event in Bhimavaram on a grand scale, with Andhra Pradesh Deputy Speaker Raghu Rama Krishnam Raju and several other guests in attendance. The event witnessed a massive turnout.
Mythri Ravi said that, apart from the story, the right casting is one of the film’s biggest strengths.
“When we first heard the story, Ravi Teja was the first name that came to our minds. Action, entertainment and drama are all his strengths. Ravi Teja instantly connected with the story, while Priya Bhavani Shankar proved to be a perfect fit for the role of a middle-class wife. Baby Nakshatra’s performance is outstanding,” he said.
He also shared an interesting update about Prabhas, saying that despite having no work scheduled yesterday, the actor visited the Fauzi shoot and spent some time there. He added that Prabhas wished the Irumudi team all the best.
Director Shiva Nirvana said the film has nearly ten times more content than what has been shown in the trailer.
“Irumudi has three interconnected layers — a knot between a father and daughter, the sacred Irumudi between Lord Ayyappa and his devotee, and the mysterious knot surrounding the crime in the story,” he said.
Shiva also clarified the rumours surrounding the film. He said Irumudi is neither a devotional film nor a story about a pilgrimage to Sabarimala, and it is not a remake.
He promised that the emotional intensity and rawness in the family drama would surprise audiences.
Ravi Teja recalled spending around eight months of his life in Bhimavaram, watching films and staying with his grandparents. He also expressed his love for the region’s food and Sankranti celebrations, especially the famous rooster fights.
The actor, who usually prefers not to speak much about his films before release, expressed confidence in the project.
“I’m very confident that we are going to celebrate the film’s success,” Ravi Teja said.
With the trailer generating strong anticipation and receiving a positive response on social media, Irumudi is now gearing up for its worldwide theatrical release on August 21.
