Prabhas remains one of the biggest superstars in Indian cinema, and his films command massive openings irrespective of the director.
So, despite being directed by Maruthi, The Raja Saab was never considered a small or medium-scale project.
Mounted on a lavish budget reportedly close to Rs 350 crore, the film was designed as a grand commercial entertainer.
However, the film reportedly failed to meet expectations at the box office and ended up disappointing distributors and fans alike. Still, regardless of its result, a Prabhas-starrer can hardly be categorised as a “minor movie.”
Interestingly, comedian-turned-actor Sapthagiri recently created buzz with an unexpected remark during a public event.
In what appeared to be a slip of the tongue, he included The Raja Saab while referring to a list of small-scale films.
“Recently, I appeared in films like Saraswathi, Raja Saab, Kokkarako and Purushaha. Since they were small-scale movies, they didn’t really reach the common audience,” Sapthagiri said during his speech.
His comment quickly caught the attention of movie lovers and Prabhas fans on social media, with many surprised that a mega-budget Prabhas film was casually described as a “small movie.”
