Thalapathy Vijay’s Jana Nayagan continued its solid box office run on Day 3, recording higher collections than Friday and moving close to the ₹90 crore mark in India.
After witnessing a drop on its second day, the political action drama bounced back on Saturday with improved footfalls across several centres.
According to early estimates from Sacnilk, Jana Nayagan collected around ₹25.01 crore net in India on its third day. This took the film’s three-day domestic total to approximately ₹88.86 crore net.
The Vijay-starrer had opened with ₹39.91 crore on Thursday and earned ₹23.94 crore on Friday. Saturday’s growth indicates strong weekend interest and steady audience support.
With Sunday still remaining, the film is expected to further strengthen its opening weekend total. However, the current figures are based on early estimates and may be revised once final numbers are released.
Directed by H. Vinoth, Jana Nayagan is a political action drama starring Vijay, Bobby Deol, Mamitha Baiju and Prakash Raj in key roles.
The film follows Vetri, played by Vijay, who mentors and protects a young woman named Viji as she pursues her dream of joining the Indian Army.
The story later expands into a larger conflict involving corruption, politics and a powerful global enemy.
