As anticipation reaches its peak for Jana Nayagan, producer Venkat K Narayana believes the film will be remembered as a landmark in Vijay's career.
Directed by H Vinoth, the film stars Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, and Mamitha Baiju in pivotal roles.
Produced on a grand scale under the KVN Productions banner, the highly anticipated entertainer is all set for a worldwide release on July 23.
Producer Venkat K Narayana described Jana Nayagan as much more than a commercial entertainer.
He called it a heartfelt tribute to Vijay's extraordinary cinematic journey and said fans will experience an unforgettable emotional ride.
The producer admitted that the team expected a few challenges after Vijay announced that this would be his final film before dedicating himself entirely to politics. However, the scale of the obstacles surprised them.
"We anticipated some release-related issues, especially regarding theatres, but we never imagined facing delays, piracy concerns, and legal hurdles. The film was initially planned for a January release but is finally arriving in July. Sometimes destiny has different plans," he remarked.
Looking at the brighter side, Venkat believes the delay has actually enhanced the film's significance.
"Now the film is releasing after Vijay has assumed office as Chief Minister. That gives audiences a once-in-a-generation opportunity to watch a sitting Chief Minister on the big screen."
Sharing his journey into cinema, Venkat revealed that filmmaking had always been a dream despite his successful business career.
"Witnessing the struggles of the film industry during the pandemic motivated us to step in. We began with film financing, then entered distribution with films like RRR in Karnataka, and eventually ventured into production."
Addressing comparisons with Bhagavanth Kesari, the producer clarified that only two scenes served as inspiration.
"We openly acknowledged taking inspiration from two scenes. Beyond that, Jana Nayagan unfolds in a completely new world with a fresh conflict and emotional narrative. Audiences will realize that once they watch the film."
With a release planned across nearly 7,000 to 8,000 screens worldwide, the producer believes Jana Nayagan will become a memorable celebration of Vijay's cinematic legacy.
He also shared his excitement about producing a film with Megastar Chiranjeevi.
"I've admired Chiranjeevi since childhood. His films and journey inspired me immensely, and producing a film with him is a dream come true."
