Kajal Aggarwal says motherhood has brought a new perspective to the way she chooses her film roles.
After taking a brief break following the birth of her son, the actress returned to films with a lineup largely featuring performance-oriented characters.
She is currently starring opposite Nandamuri Balakrishna in director Gopichand Malineni’s upcoming film, where her recently released first look suggests a graceful and dignified character rather than a glamorous one.
Kajal is also promoting The India Story, in which she plays a lawyer, and is set to appear in a key role in the mythological epic Ramayana.
Asked whether she had decided to stay away from glamorous roles altogether, Kajal clarified that it was not a blanket decision, but admitted that motherhood had influenced her choices.
“It is not like that. But I sign films that will not embarrass my son when he grows up and starts watching my movies,” she said.
Her remarks suggest that she has become more selective about the kind of characters she portrays on screen.
While she has not completely ruled out glamorous roles, Kajal indicated that she is unlikely to take up characters involving excessive glamour or adult-oriented content, preferring films that she believes her family can watch with pride.
