Unfortunately, the pre-release event of KJQ was held in the absence of its director, Kiran Kumar (KK), who passed away last year.
Sampath Nandi, Srikanth Odela, Sandeep Raj, Mythri Ravi, and several others attended the event.
Producer Sudhakar Cherukuri said, "It is deeply painful that Kiran is not with us at this moment. I can confidently say that KJQ will not disappoint anyone."
Sampath Nandi expressed his grief, saying, "Kiran always dreamed of making a truly memorable film, but fate took him away from us too soon. He was a rebel by nature. He had first narrated the script of KJQ to me, and I was supposed to produce it. Later, the project went to Sudhakar Cherukuri, who stood by my friend and ensured his dream stayed alive."
Srikanth Odela praised Kiran, saying, "KJQ was Kiran’s dream project. More than being a writer or director, he was one of the purest souls I’ve ever met. Every time I met him, he reminded me of Vijay Deverakonda’s character in Arjun Reddy. He made this film with incredible passion. Sadly, he couldn’t witness his dream come true."
Hero Shashi Odela thanked producer Sudhakar Cherukuri for his unwavering support for the film.
"We are doing everything we can to bring Kiran’s dream to audiences. KJQ explores a different side of Dawood Ibrahim, portraying his life with his wife and family. Deekshith is a close friend, and Yukti is an exceptional performer. Kiran was someone who always stood firmly by what he believed in and dedicated his life to it. We have spent the last three years bringing his vision to life. Kiran deserved a proper farewell."
Deekshith Shetty also turned emotional. "My last film, Girlfriend, was released about eight months ago. Every film release brings some nervousness, but this time the feeling is completely different because our director is no longer with us. Kiran was a visionary in the way he chose his actors and technicians. I’m grateful that he trusted me with this role. SLV Cinemas feels like home to me."
KJQ is slated for a theatrical release on the 7th of this month.
