Akhil Akkineni’s Lenin opened on a modest note at the box office, narrowly missing the ₹10 crore worldwide mark on its first day.
The film collected ₹5.90 crore net in India from 2,028 shows. Its India gross stood at ₹6.73 crore.
Overseas, Lenin added another ₹3 crore gross, taking its total worldwide opening-day collection to ₹9.73 crore.
The numbers are decent, but not strong enough for a film promoted as Akhil’s big comeback. The movie now needs a solid jump over the weekend to stay in the race.
Directed by Murali Kishor Abburu, Lenin stars Akhil Akkineni, Bhagyashri Borse and Sunil. The rural action drama has a runtime of 2 hours and 38 minutes.
