Success often brings new opportunities, and that seems to be the case with director BV Nandini Reddy after the strong box-office run of Maa Inti Bangaaram, starring Samantha Ruth Prabhu.
The filmmaker has revealed that she is now in talks with people from the Hindi film industry and could make her Bollywood debut if the right project comes her way.
“I speak Hindi fluently. I studied in Delhi for two years and watched many Hindi films during that time. I am talking to a couple of people in the industry. If something good works out, I will explore Hindi cinema. A story is a story, whichever language you tell it in,” she told mid-day.
However, before stepping into Bollywood, Nandini Reddy will focus on her upcoming Prime Video web series.
The project is expected to go on floors around September or October and will explore a very different space from her usual light-hearted films.
“It’s a dark, supernatural story,” she said, adding that OTT gives her the freedom to test herself in new genres and explore different sides of her storytelling.
Reddy also revealed that her next feature film is likely to begin only in early 2027.
For now, with Maa Inti Bangaaram boosting her profile and Hindi offers coming her way, a Bollywood move may be the next big step in Nandini Reddy’s career.
