So far, "Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu," which was released in January, remains the only Tollywood film of 2026 to have crossed the Rs 300 crore mark at the worldwide box office.
However, six months later, Ram Charan's "Peddi" has surpassed it successfully.
Although the film's second weekend did not deliver the major boost many had anticipated, despite the makers adding a few scenes and trimming portions of the first half, the collections have remained steady, but not a steep jump.
The consistent performance has kept the film firmly on track towards the Rs 300 crore benchmark.
According to Sacnilk, "Peddi" has grossed Rs 255.30 crore in India as of Day 11. Overseas, the film totaled to Rs 50 crore plus. As a result, the film's worldwide gross now stands at Rs 305 crore plus, and still running.
Coming to "Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu," the film ended its run with a worldwide gross of Rs 301.49 crore, including Rs 43 crore from overseas markets.
Ram Charan thus surpassed his father Chiranjeevi's record, albeit by a modest margin, so far.
Interestingly, the top two highest-grossing Tollywood films of the year so far belong to Mega heroes.
