Nandamuri Balakrishna has long hoped that his son, Mokshagnya, would carry forward the family’s cinematic legacy that began with the legendary N T Rama Rao. However, Mokshagnya’s much-discussed debut is still nowhere in sight.
According to industry circles, the biggest hurdle has always been Mokshagnya’s apparent lack of interest in acting.
Had he shown the same determination as many other star kids, he could have made his debut years ago.
After considerable persuasion from Balakrishna and other family members, Mokshagnya eventually agreed to act in a film directed by Prasanth Varma.
The project was launched with much fanfare and raised high expectations among Nandamuri fans.
However, the film was later shelved, and nearly two years have passed without any official update on his debut.
Industry gossip now suggests that Balakrishna himself may have stopped actively pursuing his son’s launch because of the lack of visible progress and commitment.
That, however, has not stopped sections of social media and a few portals traditionally associated with the Nandamuri camp from fuelling fresh speculation.
The latest rumour claims that filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga has agreed to launch Mokshagnya.
The claim, however, appears difficult to believe. Vanga is currently one of India’s most sought-after directors, with several leading stars eager to work with him.
At this stage of his career, it seems highly unlikely that he would take on the responsibility of launching a debutant.
