Mythri Movie Makers is expanding its slate of diverse entertainers with 418, a horror thriller that promises to take a darker and more serious route.
Naveen Yerneni and Yalamanchili Ravi Shankar are producing the film, while Prashanth Neel is presenting it.
Directed by debutant Kirtan Nadagouda, the film features Surya Raj, Charan Lakkaraju and Preethi Pagadal in prominent roles.
The production house, which is riding high on the blockbuster success of Irumudi, is now preparing 418 for a worldwide theatrical release on September 18.
Censor-related issues were reportedly the main reason for the film’s delay, particularly due to some intense and frightening sequences. The film has now successfully completed its censor formalities and received an A certificate, indicating the strong nature of its content.
Unlike regular horror films that mix scares with comedy, 418 aims to offer a more serious experience built around psychological tension, suspense, mystery and fear.
The release date poster further strengthens the film’s unsettling mood. A lone figure is seen sitting on the floor in a dimly lit setting, with a hand extending towards a blood-like trail that forms the letter “A.”
With the theatrical release date now locked, the makers are expected to intensify promotions in the coming days.
