Varun Tej’s horror-comedy Korean Kanakaraju held its pre-release event on a grand scale in Bhimavaram, drawing a massive crowd and creating an electrifying atmosphere.
Music director Thaman said Bhimavaram was a very special place for him.
“We also visited this town during the promotions of Tholi Prema. I must thank Varun Tej for giving me Tholi Prema. He believed in me and recognised the love and emotion within me. Korean Kanakaraju is a very special film. It takes immense taste and understanding to make a film like this. One needs to understand its core idea, and it is not easy to fully grasp Merlapaka Gandhi’s vision. The producers believed in the film and supported it wholeheartedly. Ritika has already delivered successful films, and I wish her continued success,” he said.
Ritika Nayak thanked Merlapaka Gandhi for trusting her with the role of Chaithra.
“I also want to thank my co-star Varun Tej. He is a true gentleman—humble, hardworking and incredibly inspiring. I am sure audiences are going to love him as Kanakaraju. I hope I get the opportunity to work with him again,” she said.
Varun Tej recalled visiting the same college for the Tholi Prema pre-release event eight years ago.
“It feels wonderful to return here for Korean Kanakaraju. Looking at the incredible energy and enthusiasm here, I truly feel that the magic of Tholi Prema is going to repeat itself. Our producers have been extremely supportive throughout this journey,” he said.
“Merlapaka Gandhi may look serious, but he has terrific comic timing. That is why he consistently delivers highly entertaining films. I am confident that this will become another major hit in his filmography. He has presented me in a completely new avatar.
“The star of this evening is Thaman. He always gives his absolute best, regardless of the hero or the film, and that is the reason behind his remarkable success. This is my third film with him. I have watched the film with the background score, and he has truly breathed life into it.
“Ritika has been a wonderful co-star, and I hope her successful journey continues with Korean Kanakaraju. Satya is a crazy and talented comedian. I always felt he was the perfect choice for the character of Kishtappa. We have worked incredibly hard on this film. A heartfelt thanks to all the Mega fans for standing by me.
“Ever since OG was released last year, our family has been enjoying a successful run. We celebrated a blockbuster during Sankranthi with Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu, and recently, we all witnessed the outstanding performance Charan anna delivered in Peddi. While I may not reach that scale, I will do my best to continue that success in my own way.”
Varun Tej further revealed that he was unable to dance on stage because of a leg injury, but assured fans that he would make up for it with a performance the next time.
