Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor’s Peddi has entered the weekday slowdown phase, but the film is still holding its ground at the box office.
After a thunderous opening and a strong first weekend, the sports action drama witnessed a gradual drop in daily collections.
The film slipped below the double-digit mark after Monday and added a moderate amount on its eighth day.
On Day 8, Peddi collected ₹6.30 crore net in India from 7,412 shows. This marks a 16.6% fall from its Day 7 collection of ₹7.55 crore.
With this, the film’s total India net collection has reached ₹193.55 crore, while its India gross stands at ₹229.95 crore.
Overseas, Peddi added another ₹0.60 crore on Day 8, taking its total international gross to ₹49.40 crore.
The film’s worldwide gross has now climbed to ₹279.35 crore, leaving it just over ₹20 crore short of the much-awaited ₹300 crore milestone.
Though the weekday numbers have slowed, there is no immediate reason for concern.
The massive collections generated during the opening weekend have already placed the film in a comfortable position.
All eyes are now on the second weekend. With no major new release threatening its run, Peddi has a clear chance to regain momentum.
If family audiences and casual moviegoers return to theatres in good numbers, the Ram Charan starrer could comfortably cross ₹300 crore worldwide.
