The trailer of “Peddi” has created massive buzz, with the makers announcing that it crossed 101 million views within 24 hours, setting a new benchmark for Telugu cinema trailers.
While audiences have widely appreciated Ram Charan’s makeover and dedication as a crossover athlete, one aspect of the trailer has drawn criticism on social media.
A few scenes featuring the film’s heroine Janhvi Kapoor have become a topic of debate online.
The portions focusing heavily on glamour have triggered trolling, with many netizens calling them “cringe.”
Some users commented that while the trailer overall looked intense and mounted on a grand scale, Janhvi Kapoor’s scenes felt reminiscent of old-style commercial song visuals often associated with veteran filmmaker K Raghavendra Rao.
However, sources say Janhvi Kapoor’s role in the film is not extensive and that the movie will not largely feature such moments.
According to insiders, those shots were primarily included in the trailer to appeal to North Indian audiences, similar to the way Rashmika Mandanna’s glamour portions were used in “Pushpa.”
