When one thinks of popular item songs in Telugu or Tamil cinema composed by Rahman, especially in recent times, nothing comes to mind instantly.
Unlike DSP or Thaman, Rahman has never really been associated with massy dance numbers as his core strength.
Which is why how he has composed a special song featuring Shruti Haasan in Peddi has generated genuine interest among film circles.
In an exclusive interaction with Greatandhra, director Buchi Babu Sana revealed a portion of the lyrics:

According to him, the song revolves around a woman as she expresses how one should occasionally turns naughty and carefree despite the pressures and routine struggles of everyday life.
Whatever the case may be, it is ultimately the music that needs to stand out.
Interestingly, Sukumar’s films have traditionally delivered iconic item songs such as Ringa Ringa, "Jigelu Rani*,Oo Antava, and Kissik through the successful combination of Chandrabose and Devi Sri Prasad.
But this time, for Sukumar’s protégé Buchi Babu’s film, the combination shifts to Ananta Sriram and A.R. Rahman.
Naturally, comparisons are inevitable. Now, all eyes are on what this unexpected combination has in store.
