The promotional battle between Ram Charan’s Peddi and Jr NTR-Prashanth Neel’s Dragon has now become one of the hottest talking points on social media.
While Peddi trailer was released yesterday, Dragon glimpse arrived today, triggering massive fan debates and mixed reactions from movie lovers across platforms.
Interestingly, both films are mounted on a huge scale and promise larger-than-life cinematic worlds.
However, the discussions around the two projects reveal very different expectations and concerns among audiences.
The trailer of Peddi has received mixed reactions from various sections. Many viewers appreciated the rustic setup, the scale and the Rangasthalam-like village atmosphere. At the same time, some felt the film may eventually depend more on emotional depth than visual grandeur.
One common opinion circulating online is that Peddi can succeed only if the emotional core works strongly in theatres. The village-period backdrop has generated curiosity, but some believe the excessive cinematic liberties could become risky if not backed by solid storytelling.
A user commented, “Peddi is cool. It recalls Rangasthalam. I am eagerly awaiting.”
Another wrote, “It is a big world with great span. All that is required is how emotion flows through.”
However, criticism also emerged regarding the hero being shown mastering multiple sports in the film.
“Too many sports. How can a hero be expert in those many sports? Is he jack of all trades and master of none? The pitch itself is too much cinematic liberty,” one netizen posted.
Some Bollywood observers reportedly did not react positively to the multi-sport angle either, feeling it looked exaggerated for a rooted village drama.
Janhvi Kapoor’s glamor presentation in the trailer also sparked debate online.
“Janhvi Kapoor is shown very bad. It is not required to show her exposing that level being the heroine,” read another comment.
Despite mixed reactions, many believe the hype around Peddi will rise further once the songs and promotional material arrive.
“The heat builds towards the release. Once the item song comes out, the expectations would rise,” another social media user observed.
Meanwhile, the glimpse of Jr NTR and Prashanth Neel’s Dragon generated an equally explosive response online.
While many fans hailed the intensity, visuals and NTR’s screen presence, others felt the film looked too similar to Neel’s previous works like KGF and Salaar.
One viral comment read, “KGF 1, 2, Salaar and this look the same! Tell Prashanth Neel to look for a different career!”
At the same time, fans of Neel’s style were thrilled by the glimpse.

NTR’s look and voice received major appreciation overall.

Yet comparisons with Yash and Prabhas also surfaced online.
“But NTR looks not matching compared to Yash and Prabhas,” a comment read.
Some users also expressed concern over Prashanth Neel’s writing style after Salaar.
“In Salaar we already saw weakness in Neel’s writing. Entire and brilliant actors like Prithviraj were given second-class treatment in favour of stuffing slow-motion Prabhas elevations. I can only hope Dragon doesn't repeat the mistake. NTR should stop selecting directors based on brand recognition and pay attention to scripts,” another detailed comment stated.
Interestingly, both Peddi and Dragon are now facing similar audience expectations despite being very different films.
In Peddi, viewers are looking for emotional storytelling beneath the massive village backdrop and sports drama. In Dragon, audiences want Prashanth Neel to deliver something fresh beyond his trademark dark-action template.
