Pressure Mounts on Nani: Ganesh Festival Is Crucial

Nani is under considerable pressure following reports that The Paradise could be postponed for the third time this year.

Media and social media reports about another possible delay have reportedly triggered calls from distributors, OTT platforms and the overseas distributor, who are said to have questioned the repeated changes to the release date. They reportedly felt the team should have planned more carefully before announcing September 24 as the release date.

A one-week shift from September 24 to October 1 may still be understandable. However, the absence of an official statement has fuelled speculation on social media that the film could be pushed to the end of October. This appears to have put Nani and the team on alert.

Following these concerns, Nani has reportedly asked the team to release posters reaffirming the September 24 release date.

He does not want to lose the momentum the film has generated so far, particularly with songs such as “Yesha Nagula” and “Aaya Sher” creating interest.

With substantial money riding on the film, Nani reportedly does not want to take any chances. More importantly, The Paradise is believed to be the film he sees as having the strongest potential to give him a major pan-India breakthrough.

Nani has been releasing his films in multiple languages, but none has so far achieved a major breakthrough outside the Telugu market or emerged as a pan-India blockbuster. He reportedly sees The Paradise as a crucial opportunity to change that.

However, it is still not confirmed that the film will definitely arrive in theatres on September 24.

The team is reportedly exploring every possible way to meet the deadline, and this week is expected to be crucial.

Final clarity on the release date is likely to emerge after the Ganesh festival.
