Producer Advises Media, But Contradicts Himself

Producer Advises Media, But Contradicts Himself

A recent comment made by producer Chinta Gopalakrishna Reddy at the pre release press meet of Rao Bahadur, four days ago, has surprised many in the media and film industry.

Gopalakrishna Reddy, who also produced KA starring Kiran Abbavaram, indicated that he did not make any major profits from the film.

According to him, the biggest benefit of KA was that it improved the careers of the actors and technicians rather than generating significant financial returns for the producer.

The statement came as a shock because, for several months, the media and trade circles had widely regarded KA as one of the biggest hits in Kiran Abbavaram's career.

A successful film is generally expected to be a profitable venture for its producers as well.

Interestingly, during the same press meet, Gopalakrishna Reddy advised the media to speak in a way that encourages producers instead of focusing only on budgets, risks and collections.

However, his own remarks have now raised fresh questions.

If a film like KA, which was widely celebrated as a commercial success, did not generate meaningful profits for its producer, what message does that send to others planning to invest in films?

Advising the media is one thing, but maintaining confidence and positive perception through one's own statements is equally important for the industry.
