The hospitalisation of Bollywood actor Rajesh Sharma has sparked controversy, with conflicting accounts emerging over what caused his health condition.
Earlier reports claimed that Sharma fell ill after suffering a suspected insect bite while shooting for Prabhas’s Fauji at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad.
The incident prompted the All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) to demand an immediate and transparent investigation.
In a statement issued by its president, Suresh Shyamlal Gupta, AICWA appealed to Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy to order a high-level inquiry into the matter.
The association also urged the film’s producers to bear all medical expenses incurred by the actor and called for strict action if any negligence or safety lapses are established.
However, Rajesh Sharma’s assistant dismissed reports of an insect bite, stating that the actor had been admitted to a hospital in Kolkata due to diabetes-related complications and was expected to recover soon.
Adding to the confusion, some members of the film fraternity have continued to claim that Sharma developed an infection after an insect bite on the sets at Ramoji Film City.
With contradictory versions doing the rounds, the exact cause of Rajesh Sharma’s hospitalisation remains unclear.
Meanwhile, the production house, Mythri Movie Makers, has not yet issued an official statement on the matter.
Fauji is a historical action drama directed by Hanu Raghavapudi. The film has been in production for a long time.
Apart from Prabhas, the film also features Mithun Chakraborty, Anupam Kher, Jaya Prada and newcomer Imanvi.
