The much-awaited trailer of Ramayana, the ambitious two-part film directed by Nitesh Tiwari and starring Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi and Yash, has finally been released.
The trailer offers a visually rich glimpse into one of India’s most celebrated epics and suggests that the film is being mounted on a large scale.
It opens by establishing the cosmic background of the story. As evil begins to disturb the balance of the three worlds, Lord Vishnu takes birth as Rama, played by Ranbir Kapoor, to restore Dharma.
Sai Pallavi appears as Sita, whose grace, strength and devotion form the emotional centre of the story. Her abduction by Ravana leads to the great conflict between Rama and the king of Lanka.
Ranbir Kapoor brings calmness and dignity to the role of Rama. His appearance in both simple ascetic clothing and royal attire reflects the different phases of the character’s journey.
Yash makes a strong impression as Ravana. His intense expressions and commanding screen presence give the character a powerful and threatening quality.
