Rashmika Mandanna has finally opened up about the serious injury she suffered while shooting for her upcoming film, Mysaa.
The actress took to Instagram to reassure fans about her health and revealed that a tendon in her right hip had become detached during filming.
Rashmika admitted that she had initially wanted to keep the injury private.
She said she had been missing from social media for some time and revealed that this was her third injury in a row. The actress joked that she needed to stop treating her body like a machine.
Explaining the injury, Rashmika said there are four tendons on each side of the hip connecting it to the leg. One of the tendons on her right hip had detached and now needs time to heal before she can properly lift her leg again.
She said the accident happened while filming a dance sequence for Mysaa, describing it as the most physically demanding film she has worked on so far.
Although the injury is painful, Rashmika assured fans that the pain is manageable.
She also said the forced break felt like a sign from God, as she would otherwise never voluntarily take time off from work.
Calling it a “freak accident”, Rashmika said all her recent injuries had occurred unexpectedly.
The actress revealed that she has been spending her recovery period solving puzzles and enjoying the unexpected holiday.
However, she admitted that staying away from exercise has been difficult. Rashmika said she normally works out and runs regularly, and joked that without exercise, she tends to eat more and turn into a “dessert monster”.
Ending her note, Rashmika thanked fans for their love and concern and promised to share further updates about her recovery.
Directed by Rawindra Pulle and produced by Unformula Films, Mysaa is described as an emotional action thriller set against a tribal backdrop.
The film marks Rashmika Mandanna’s first female-led pan-India action project and is scheduled for a theatrical release in 2026.
