Kajal Aggarwal returned to films after marriage and the birth of her child. Instead of focusing only on regular commercial heroine roles, she tried to choose performance-oriented characters.
However, her second innings has not worked in her favour.
Kajal, who once ruled Telugu and Tamil cinema as a top heroine, has not been able to regain her earlier glory after making a comeback. Her re-entry journey has so far brought her more disappointments than success.
In fact, luck has not supported her from the beginning. Her entire portion was removed from Acharya. After Indian 2 turned into a disaster, the chances of her role in the next part gaining attention also became uncertain.
She made a proper comeback with Satyabhama, but the film failed to revive her craze. Kannappa also did not help her career. Her latest film, The India Story, too, failed to deliver the expected result.
Kajal had placed high hopes on this film. She personally took charge of the promotions and pushed the campaign aggressively like never before. But the movie failed to make an impact.
Except for Bhagavanth Kesari, Kajal has not had a notable success in her second innings.
Interestingly, she is now once again working with Balakrishna. Fans are waiting to see whether this film can finally bring her the much-needed comeback success.
