Rs 50 Lakh Bet, Rs 50 Cr Jackpot at Just 21!

At just 21, Anupriya Nagar walked away from a promising job in Zurich and took a huge gamble on a small spiritual film.

She joined Hanuman Ansh during post-production, when the makers were looking for funds, and invested around Rs 50 lakh.

Directed by Vishal Chaturvedi, the film is inspired by the life and teachings of Neem Karoli Baba and stars Shobhinaw Satyaa. Released on August 7, 2026, it went on to become one of the year’s biggest surprise hits.

Anupriya’s interest in Neem Karoli Baba began while she was studying economics in the UK. After reading about Steve Jobs’ connection with Kainchi Dham, she became curious about the spiritual leader and later felt his story deserved to reach a younger audience.

When she read the script of Hanuman Ansh, she was impressed and asked how she could help. That was when she learned the film needed post-production funding.

She invested nearly one-third of the film’s reported Rs 1.5 crore budget, using savings she had built while studying abroad.

The risk paid off spectacularly.

With the film reportedly grossing over Rs 300 crore worldwide, Anupriya has said her eventual share could be around Rs 50 crore, though final calculations are still pending.

What began as a Rs 50 lakh leap of faith has now turned into one of the most remarkable producer success stories of 2026.
