All hurdles have been cleared for Ram Charan’s "Peddi", which is set for a massive theatrical release on June 4. The ongoing percentage system row will also not impact the film in any way.
Recently, exhibitors demanded either an interim percentage system or an increase in rental value for the film until the committee formed by the Telugu Film Chamber submits its final report on the percentage system issue. On Tuesday, the Chamber agreed to the exhibitors’ demand.
As per the new arrangement, exhibitors will receive an additional share from the hiked ticket prices in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, apart from the regular rental amount.
Until now, single-screen exhibitors were receiving only the fixed rental value, while producers and distributors benefited from the extra revenue generated through ticket price hikes.
This interim decision is being seen as a win-win arrangement for exhibitors, distributors, and producers. With this issue resolved, there are no more hurdles for the release of "Peddi".
Producer Venkata Satish Kilaru is also optimistic about securing permissions for ticket price hikes in both Telugu states.
However, he is reportedly not keen on premiere or benefit shows and is focusing mainly on obtaining revised ticket prices.
