Spider-Man: Brand New Day has taken the Indian box office by storm following its theatrical release on July 30, 2026.
The 38th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe marks the return of Tom Holland and Zendaya in the lead roles. Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, the superhero entertainer opened to massive crowds across the country.
The excitement surrounding the release reached extraordinary levels in major cities such as Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru and Hyderabad.
Fans gathered for midnight and early-morning shows, with several moviegoers arriving dressed in Spider-Man costumes. Packed auditoriums witnessed celebrations, banners and loud chants from Marvel enthusiasts.
Tickets for premium 3D and IMAX screens were reportedly sold out several days before the release.
The huge fan response translated into record-breaking box-office numbers.
According to trade tracker Sacnilk, Spider-Man: Brand New Day collected ₹60.60 crore net and ₹74.46 crore gross in India on its opening day.
The film was screened across approximately 17,250 shows nationwide and reportedly registered an impressive average occupancy of 72.3 per cent.
With these numbers, the film comfortably surpassed the opening-day collection of The Odyssey, which earned ₹17.40 crore net in India.
It also reportedly broke the long-standing Indian opening-day record held by Avengers: Endgame.
The English version led the collections with ₹32.25 crore net, while the Hindi-dubbed version contributed a strong ₹22 crore.
The Telugu version collected ₹3.25 crore net, followed by the Tamil version with ₹3 crore. The Malayalam and Kannada versions added ₹7 lakh and ₹3 lakh, respectively.
The impressive performance across different languages highlights Spider-Man’s strong pan-India popularity.
With positive word of mouth and strong advance bookings, the film is expected to register even bigger numbers during the opening weekend.
