Telugu actress Sreeleela has come under criticism on social media following the success of Lenin, in which Bhagyashri Borse played the female lead opposite Akhil Akkineni.
Sreeleela was initially signed for the role and reportedly shot for nearly a week before leaving the project. She was later replaced by Bhagyashri Borse.
The makers never officially revealed the reason behind the change. However, industry buzz suggested that Sreeleela’s packed schedule and date issues may have forced her to step away from the film.
After Lenin hit theatres, Bhagyashri Borse received appreciation for her performance and screen presence. Her success in the role soon triggered comparisons with Sreeleela.
A section of social media users claimed that Bhagyashri was a better fit for the character and questioned why Sreeleela had been chosen in the first place.
