Toxic Crashes 64% on Day 2 After Historic Opening

Yash’s Toxic, directed by Geetu Mohandas, witnessed a massive drop on its second day at the box office.

After collecting Rs 101.10 crore net in India on Day 1, the film earned Rs 36.40 crore net on Day 2 across 22,629 shows. This represents a steep 64% decline from its opening-day collection.

With this, Toxic has taken its total India net collection to Rs 137.50 crore, while its India gross stands at Rs 164.50 crore after two days.

Overseas, the film collected another Rs 10 crore on Day 2, pushing its total international gross to Rs 26.25 crore.

The worldwide gross collection of Toxic now stands at Rs 190.75 crore.

Language-wise, the Hindi version continued to dominate on Day 2 with Rs 23 crore. Kannada followed with Rs 8.50 crore, while Telugu contributed Rs 3 crore. Tamil collected Rs 1.50 crore and Malayalam added Rs 0.40 crore.

The film, which also stars Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Rukmini Vasanth, Tara Sutaria and Huma Qureshi, had opened on a historic note but the sharp second-day fall has raised concerns about its hold.

The big question now is whether Toxic can recover over the weekend. A strong Saturday and Sunday will be crucial for the Yash-starrer to regain momentum and stabilise its box-office run.
