As one of the most expensive Malayalam films ever made, the film needed strong momentum after the initial start.
However, it could not sustain at the box office and has already turned into a major disappointment worldwide.
It is now unlikely to even enter the list of the top 10 highest-grossing Mollywood films of all time.
The Malayalam spy action thriller collected around Rs 1.5 crore in India on its first Tuesday, taking its five-day India net total to Rs 24.85 crore, as per Sacnilk. The gross India total stands at around Rs 29.32 crore.
Overseas, the film has collected around Rs 41.5 crore gross so far. With this, its worldwide total stands at approximately Rs 70.82 crore gross.
Given its huge opening, Patriot was expected to score big in the long run and comfortably enter the all-time top 10 list for Malayalam cinema. But mixed-to-negative word of mouth has badly hit its prospects.
At this stage, the film is struggling at the box office and may not even enter the Rs 100 crore club globally.
