The launch event of Raasa Gummadi, the second single from Varun Tej’s Korean Kanakaraju, was held in Anantapur, where the team shared several interesting details about the film.
Director Merlapaka Gandhi said that, as a native of Tirupati, he naturally connected with the Rayalaseema backdrop of the story.
He explained that the film is deeply rooted in the culture and flavour of Anantapur, making it the ideal location for the shoot.
According to him, Varun Tej was also keen on filming in the region to bring greater authenticity to the story.
The director praised Varun Tej for his energetic dance performance in Raasa Gummadi and said audiences could expect many more entertaining moments in the film.
He also stated that Varun Tej had mastered the Anantapur dialect exceptionally well and would appear like a true local on screen.
Varun Tej said launching the song in Anantapur was an emotional decision, as a large portion of the film was shot there and the story belongs to the region.
He felt that beginning the outdoor promotional campaign in the same place where the narrative unfolds made the occasion even more meaningful.
The actor also revealed that he performed the song while keeping his Pedda Nanna, Chiranjeevi, in mind.
“I tried to dance with the same spirit and energy that Pedda Nanna is known for. I thoroughly enjoyed working on this film and performing this song,” he said.
The film is scheduled to release on August 7.
