Thalapathy Vijay’s much-hyped swansong Jana Nayagan is still awaiting CBFC clearance, months after missing its Pongal release amid legal and political turbulence.
Producer Venkat K Narayana said the team is waiting for the censor certificate and expressed confidence that the clearance would come soon.
“We are waiting for the certificate. I am sure they will give it anytime soon. We will release the film at the earliest,” he said.
The producer, who was speaking during a temple visit, also referred to Vijay’s political rise and said, “He has become the Jana Nayagan of Tamil Nadu.”
Directed by H Vinoth, the film is expected to mark Vijay’s final big-screen appearance before he fully enters politics.
However, fans are clearly growing impatient as the film continues to remain stuck without a confirmed release date.
