Ahead of the July 30 release of Srinivasa Mangapuram, director Ajay Bhupathi shared an interesting casting story about the film's female lead.
He revealed that actress Sara Arjun was initially considered for the role. However, due to some internal issues, the casting did not materialize, prompting the team to look for another actress.
The role eventually went to Rasha Thadani, who now stars opposite Ghattamaneni Jayakrishna in the film.
Ajay Bhupathi explained that when the casting process was underway, Dhurandhar had not yet been released, and admitted that he initially felt Sara looked a little too young for the character.
With those early reservations, the team decided to move forward with Rasha after further discussions and preparations.
According to the director, she fit the role well and delivered the performance they were looking for.
