Akhil Akkineni has made one thing clear; he does not want to take another long break between films.
After the disaster of Agent, Akhil stayed away from the big screen for a long time. He finally returned to the success track with Lenin, and now he says he wants to move quickly with his next projects.
“My next two films will also be period films. They are not announced yet, so I cannot reveal much. But I will do them back-to-back. This time, I will not take a gap. If I delay again, my fans should come home and beat me. I need that pressure,” Akhil recently said.
His statement has naturally excited Akkineni fans, who are now waiting for his next film announcement.
Lenin has completed its theatrical run and has also arrived on OTT. In the meantime, Akhil reportedly took a short foreign trip with his wife and returned after a brief break.
So, the stage now appears set for his next film.
Akhil reportedly has two scripts ready. He is now said to be deciding which one should go on floors first.
Interestingly, one of the stories is again set against a Rayalaseema backdrop, similar to Lenin.
The question is whether Akhil will immediately choose another Rayalaseema-based story or give that backdrop a break to avoid repetition.
However, the project itself is said to be almost certain.
It is reportedly a period drama packed with strong emotions and requires three senior actors for three important roles. The film is expected to move forward once the casting and other calculations are finalised.
For now, all eyes are on Akhil. He has promised that there will be no long gap this time.
Now, he has to prove it by announcing his next film as early as possible.
