While remakes are a very common feature in cinema nowadays, the yesteryears film makers were always keen on creating something original and their thought patterns were more creative and driven towards innovation due to the infrastructure and environment.

But then there was one man who wanted to try his hand at this and burnt both his hands. Senior actor Nagayya made a film which was a copy of the English film. It was titled ‘ Naa Illu’ and it was remake of the English film ‘The way of all flesh’. All this happened in the year 1953.

Much to his misfortune, the film turned out to be a miserable flop and this is said to have landed Nagayya in great financial trouble which took him a lot of time to come out. However, he still remains in history as the first one to having attempted a remake in Tollywood.
