Nostalgia: Hero ANR On Bicycle On Madras Roads

Veteran actor Akkineni Nageswara Rao too began his film career rather humbly like several others before him. ANR went to Madras in search of roles and later made it big step by step with his acting skills.
 
ANR used to move on the roads of Madras on a humble bicycle. Even though he was a well known star after Keelugurram, ANR continued to move around on his bicycle.
 
ANR also sported the traditional dress of Telugus, Pancha and Lalchi. The film industry was still in the nascent stages and the remuneration was also very modest. Just a handful of producers could boast of their own car during those days.
 
So our ANR had no inhibitions what so ever in traveling on Madras roads on a bicycle. Even a small time actor would not be caught riding a bicycle now.
