Ramana Reddy was one actor whose mere presence on the screen was good enough to tickle the funny bone and as soon as words started coming out of his mouth that peels of laughter used to follow from audience. Not just on screen, even off screen his antics were very humorous.
He was shooting for ‘Lava Kusha’ and one scene required him to act as sishya at Valmiki Ashram where he had to sit next to a lion. Ramana Reddy was panic-stricken with fear but the ring master assured that the lion was harmless since it lost its mother while young and from then on has been brought up and nurtured with milk. Immediately, Ramana Reddy in his usual style said that even he too grew up drinking milk and has been nurtured well but now he cannot finish a meal without chicken in it. Finally, he completed the shot with a lot of tension and pressure.
