Actress Savitri met with dangers whenever she was on River Godavari. She escaped miraculously from two horrified perils. One was during the shooting of the film ‘Mooga Manasulu’ in 60s.
While shooting a scene in the combination of ANR and Savitri, the boat was tilted and Savitri was rescued by ANR who knows better swimming. The second peril was during the shooting of Tamil version of Mooga Manasulu, with the title ‘Praaptham’. Sivaji Ganesan was the hero in that. Savitri and Chandrakala (played Jamuna’s role in Tamil) were taken amidst Godavari where a sand dune was present. But suddenly a storm was attacked and the sand was covering everyone there. Then Savitri, doing an adventure motivated everyone to get into the boat. Amidst big threat and peril everybody reached the bank at last.
That’s how Savitri escaped the danger for second time.
