Even as the Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Andhra Pradesh continues to hound YSR Congress party chief Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy’s personal assistant K Nageshwar Reddy (KNR) in the alleged liquor scam, the former chief minister has not hesitated to take his aide back into service.
KNR, who was recently questioned by the SIT, resumed his routine activities as Jagan’s assistant at the Tadepalli camp office on Tuesday.
He was also seen accompanying the former chief minister during his travel in the state.
On Monday evening, KNR met Jagan at Gannavaram Airport after the latter arrived from Bengaluru and accompanied him to Tadepalli.
On Tuesday, he was reportedly involved in coordinating appointments and other official engagements at Jagan’s camp office in his capacity as a personal aide.
The SIT, which is probing the alleged liquor scam, is said to have questioned KNR last month after investigators reportedly identified financial transactions and alleged payments connected to the case. Around the time of the questioning, Jagan had travelled to Bengaluru.
Until recently, KNR was not seen around Jagan during the SIT interrogation period.
When Jagan returned from Bengaluru on June 1 and remained in Tadepalli until June 4, KNR reportedly stayed away from the former chief minister’s office. His reappearance alongside Jagan this week has therefore attracted attention.
Another aide, identified as Raju, who unofficially assisted KNR in managing the former chief minister’s affairs, also attended the camp office on Tuesday. Raju was questioned by the SIT last week as part of the ongoing investigation.
In addition, Manohar, another personal assistant associated with Jagan, who had also faced questioning by investigators, has reportedly resumed his regular duties since Monday.
