YSR Congress Party president and former Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy accused the Telugu Desam Party-led coalition government of deceiving job aspirants through the Mega DSC teacher recruitment process conducted last year.
In a strongly worded statement posted on X, Jagan questioned whether the exercise was truly a “Mega DSC” recruitment drive or a “massive scam” meant to cheat unemployed youth. He alleged that there was a complete lack of transparency in the conduct of the examinations.
Jagan claimed that the government had intentionally cancelled the DSC notification issued during the previous YSRCP regime, deliberately delayed the recruitment process, and later released a fresh notification mainly for publicity.
The former chief minister accused the government of betraying candidates through alleged question paper leaks, deletion of recruitment data, and suppression of merit lists.
He questioned why the administration was allegedly hiding what he described as a “dark operation” involving leaks in a department headed by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s son, Nara Lokesh.
Jagan demanded that Lokesh be removed from the post of education minister, holding him responsible for what he termed “Mega Leak” and “Mega Corruption” in the recruitment process.
He also called for a probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation and urged the government to ensure justice for genuinely meritorious candidates.
Raising specific concerns, Jagan questioned how an outsourcing employee associated with the State Council of Educational Research and Training, who was allegedly involved in the DSC examination process, secured the first rank in the recruitment examination.
He further alleged that candidate details were deleted from the database and asked why merit lists and information about toppers had been withheld from the public.
The YSRCP chief also questioned why lists of selected candidates were not displayed publicly at district collector offices, and why messages were directly sent only to those selected.
Jagan additionally alleged corruption in sports quota appointments, claiming that posts under the quota were sold for as much as Rs 15 lakh each.
He alleged that fake sports certificates were issued even to people who had never participated in sports activities.
He also questioned the sudden replacement of the TET convener during the DSC process.
According to Jagan, although the official serving as TET convener was also functioning as the DSC examination convener, the government unexpectedly removed the officer and appointed a Joint Commissioner from the Education Department as the new DSC convener.
Demanding an explanation, Jagan asked the government to clarify the motive behind the decision.
He concluded by urging Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu to demonstrate sincerity by ensuring justice to candidates who had genuinely performed well in the examinations.
