The Jana Sena Party, which achieved a 100 per cent strike rate in the last general elections in Andhra Pradesh, is now making efforts to strengthen its position at the grassroots level.
The party is planning to contest a significant number of seats in the upcoming local body elections, with the aim of improving its organisational strength and gaining greater bargaining power ahead of the next Assembly elections.
On Friday, Jana Sena Party Political Affairs Committee chairman and State Civil Supplies Minister Nadendla Manohar held a meeting with party leaders and workers in Vijayawada and asked them to prepare for the local body polls.
He urged party leaders to strengthen the grassroots organisation by identifying local leadership issues and addressing the problems faced by people at the constituency level.
Manohar said a proper understanding of local issues and timely solutions would help the party confidently face future elections.
He added that the party was developing structured mechanisms to bring grassroots-level problems to the attention of the leadership and ensure that they were resolved without delay.
Recalling the 2021 municipal elections, Manohar said Jana Sena, in alliance with the BJP, had contested 39 divisions in Vijayawada city.
He said party workers had campaigned under difficult circumstances to protect democratic values and resist what he described as the excesses of the then ruling government.
The minister said Jana Sena’s objective was not only to strengthen its leadership but also to build a strong organisational network across the state.
He said party president and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan had launched cadre interaction programmes across Andhra Pradesh as part of this effort.
Manohar said the ongoing organisational exercise was being conducted transparently, with ministers, MLAs and party leaders recording their views through structured feedback forms.
He assured party workers that those who had remained loyal to Jana Sena during difficult times would receive proper recognition and opportunities within the organisation.
He also stressed the need to create forums where party members could openly discuss their grievances and organisational concerns.
According to Manohar, Pawan Kalyan had already established such platforms within the party.
Manohar further said coordination committees would be formed in various constituencies and districts to ensure effective cooperation among alliance partners during elections.
He added that Pawan Kalyan had already completed an extensive exercise on restructuring the party committees and would soon focus on formally constituting them after resuming full-time organisational work.
