Former Jana Sena Party leader and prominent political activist Bolisetti Satyanarayana has launched a sharp attack on the functioning of the ruling NDA alliance in Andhra Pradesh, alleging that dedicated Jana Sena workers are being ignored while those with money and influence are being rewarded.
In a strongly worded statement posted on social media, Satyanarayana urged the alliance leadership not to test the patience of party workers any further and called for immediate corrective measures ahead of the upcoming local body elections.
Clarifying that he has not distanced himself from Jana Sena despite resigning from party posts, Satyanarayana said his relationship with Deputy Chief Minister and Jana Sena president Pawan Kalyan remains intact.
He stressed that genuine grassroots workers who have made sacrifices for the party must be recognised. He warned that failure to do so could adversely affect the alliance’s prospects in the local body elections.
Addressing Jana Sena Political Affairs Committee chairman and minister Nadendla Manohar, Satyanarayana questioned whether deserving leaders and cadre had been given enough opportunities to grow within the party.
He alleged that individuals who merely praised the leadership or spent money were being given priority, while committed party workers were being sidelined in favour of leaders from other political parties.
Citing the Pendurthi Assembly constituency as an example, Satyanarayana referred to Jana Sena leader Shivasankar, who resigned from government service with six years left before retirement to work for the party. He questioned why such committed leaders were denied electoral opportunities despite working extensively to strengthen the organisation.
Satyanarayana also questioned whether the Telugu Desam Party was following the true spirit of the alliance.
He pointed out that before the Assembly elections, Pawan Kalyan had publicly stated that 30 per cent of nominated posts would be allotted to Jana Sena and 10 per cent to the BJP.
However, Satyanarayana alleged that the agreed formula had not been implemented. He further questioned why veteran film producer A. M. Ratnam had not been appointed Chairman of the Andhra Pradesh Film Development Corporation despite expectations within the alliance.
Calling for immediate discussions among the alliance partners, Satyanarayana urged the TDP to ensure a fair distribution of nominated posts and provide Jana Sena and the BJP with a larger share of seats in the upcoming local body elections.
He warned that repeating the mistakes made during the Assembly elections could politically benefit YSR Congress Party president Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Emphasising his continued commitment to Jana Sena, Satyanarayana said he would continue to question the leadership whenever necessary in the interests of the party and its cadre.
