Jana Sena Party president and Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has decided to stay away from field visits for another two weeks on medical advice as he continues to recover from recent shoulder surgery.
According to party sources, the Deputy Chief Minister will carry out his official duties from the Mangalagiri camp office during this period.
Pawan Kalyan recently underwent surgery for a rotator cuff injury in his right shoulder at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai. After being discharged, he returned to Hyderabad and has been recovering at his residence.
On Monday, he travelled to Mangalagiri for the first time since the surgery to resume official work.
During review meetings, Pawan Kalyan instructed officials to make arrangements for his proposed visits to Pithapuram, Pedapenki village in Parvathipuram Manyam district and the Pushkar Ghats in Rajamahendravaram.
However, doctors reportedly advised him that attending public programmes and moving among large crowds at this stage could put excessive strain on his operated shoulder.
They cautioned that such strain could reopen the injury and make further corrective treatment more complicated. Doctors also warned that overexertion could affect his left shoulder.
Following the medical advice, Pawan Kalyan directed officials to revise his field-tour schedule and make the necessary arrangements for him to work from the Mangalagiri camp office without affecting official duties.
He is expected to continue working from the camp office for the next two weeks while recovering from surgery.
Doctors had earlier indicated that complete recovery from rotator cuff surgery could take up to four months.
