Jana Sena Party president and Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan left for Mumbai on Friday to undergo treatment for long-standing shoulder injuries.
The first of two surgeries is scheduled at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital on Saturday.
Doctors have reportedly advised surgery on both shoulders after medical examinations conducted late last month at the Mumbai hospital.
According to party sources, surgeons will first operate on one shoulder, while the second surgery will be performed after a brief recovery period.
Doctors reportedly decided against operating on both shoulders simultaneously to avoid severe post-operative discomfort and mobility issues.
Following the surgeries, Pawan Kalyan is expected to remain under medical rest for about 30 days.
Pawan Kalyan has been suffering from severe rotator cuff injuries in both shoulders for some time.
Medical experts reportedly found extensive tears in the shoulder muscles, making surgery necessary.
Ahead of his surgery, Pawan Kalyan held meetings with party MPs, MLAs, MLCs and senior leaders, directing them to ensure that organisational activities continue uninterrupted during his recovery.
He reportedly instructed party representatives to intensify grassroots organisational work, remain accessible to the public, resolve public grievances promptly, strengthen the party at the constituency level and maintain regular communication with party workers.
He also urged elected representatives to regularly collect feedback from the public and party cadre and ensure that the confidence reposed in Jana Sena by the people is upheld.
Pawan Kalyan reportedly asked party leaders to begin preparations for the anticipated local body elections, which he believes may be held before November.
He stressed the need to prepare both the leadership and the cadre well in advance and instructed leaders to stay closely connected with Jana Sena workers.
During the meeting, parliamentary constituency observers and committee members who participated in the Jana Sena organisational strengthening programme briefed Pawan Kalyan on their field-level observations.
He congratulated them on successfully completing the information-gathering exercise.
