A systematic attempt to polarise the votes of Dalits and Christians appears to be going on in Andhra Pradesh on the lines of what had happened in neighbouring Tamil Nadu, leading to the victory of Joseh Vijay’s Tamiliga Vettri Kazhagam.
This was indicated by senior actor and former Bharatiya Janata Party leader Naresh Vijaya Krishna who posted a series of messages on X.
He observed that Christian groups may be attempting to create a new political force in Andhra Pradesh with the potential to influence government formation as they had done in Tamil Nadu, where Joseph Vijay emerged as a significant political figure.
He said recent political developments in Andhra Pradesh appeared to indicate a similar strategy, as was evident from the recent Dalit Christian public meeting held in Eluru and developments involving Jai Bhim Party president and lawyer Jada Sravan Kumar.
Naresh said the speeches delivered at the meeting, the subsequent registration of criminal cases, and the arrests were part of a broader political strategy.
Although Naresh was once an active BJP leader—having served as the BJP Yuva Morcha state president, BJP state secretary, and even contested a Lok Sabha election on the party's ticket—he has remained away from active politics for more than 16 years. His recent comments have therefore attracted considerable attention.
Without naming individuals directly, he also referred to the arrest of YouTuber Prashna Ravana, suggesting that the sequence of events appeared politically motivated.
“The hyper-religiopolitical campaign by Jaibheem Party chief Jada Sravan & his team, followed by FIRs & arrests, appear to be an attempt to shift the political narrative in Andhra Pradesh by them in nexus with another political party fishing for the Christian and Dalit votes ahead of the next Assembly elections aimed at challenging the ruling coalition,” Naresh said in his post five days ago.
He said it indicated an early warning of a heart attack.
“If this trend continues, the next election could be framed as a contest between doctrines & dharma-a Kaliyuga Mahabharata in the political arena. my predictions have come true in the past. Watch out for this space,” he said.
In his latest post, Naresh recalled a tweet he had made on July 1, saying that many had dismissed his assessment, just as they had ignored his earlier predictions about Tamil Nadu politics.
“When I tweeted five days back, people took me lightly like my prediction on Tamil Nadu elections. Today, this issue is rocking the state. I clearly mentioned that there a religio-political conspiracy behind this and be ready for a heart attack,” he said.
Naresh added: “Now the YSRCP, left parties and others have come out fully support of Prashna@ jada sravan & team. No, I am not a supporter of any party, but a political observer studying these developments. Wake up. Not just the state, the nation should be prepared for the outcome. Watch this space. Just telling.”
Naresh's sudden re-entry into public political discourse after remaining away from politics for over one-and-a-half decades has generated considerable interest in Andhra Pradesh's political circles.
