The ruling Telugu Desam Party in Andhra Pradesh, headed by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, is one of the richest political parties in the country, as is evident from its bank balance, which stood at Rs 485.81 crore as of March 31, 2026.
This was revealed by TDP treasurer and senior leader Konakalla Narayana, who presented the party’s financial statement at the annual Mahanadu conclave. As in previous years, Konakalla presented the statement detailing the party’s income, expenditure and welfare spending for the 2025-26 financial year.
Addressing party delegates, Narayana said the TDP had continued its insurance support scheme for party workers to ensure financial assistance to the families of cadres who die in accidents.
He stated that the party spent Rs 46.52 crore during 2025-26 on insurance coverage and welfare benefits for party workers.
According to the financial statement, the party earned Rs 1.62 crore through membership fees during the financial year. Donations formed the largest source of direct income, amounting to Rs 58.32 crore.
The party also generated Rs 29.10 crore through interest income, while other sources contributed Rs 1.52 crore, taking the total revenue for the year to Rs 90.64 crore.
On the expenditure side, the TDP spent Rs 16.52 crore on publicity and campaign-related activities. Another Rs 46.52 crore was spent on welfare insurance for party workers, while other miscellaneous expenses pushed the total spending to Rs 74.25 crore during the year.
After accounting for all expenditures, the party recorded a surplus of Rs 16.39 crore. Konakalla Narayana further announced that the Telugu Desam Party’s General Fund stood at Rs 485.81 crore as of the financial year ending March 2026.
The announcement also highlighted major donations received by the party on the first day of Mahanadu. Donations worth nearly Rs 12 crore were collected on the opening day alone.
Among the biggest contributors were Nellore MP Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy and Kovur MLA Vemireddy Prashanthi, who jointly donated Rs 5 crore to the party. Rajya Sabha MP Sana Satish contributed Rs 1.5 crore.
Ongole MP Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy, Minister B.C. Janardhan Reddy and Peddakurapadu MLA Bhashyam Praveen each donated Rs 1 crore to the party fund.
