Telugu Desam Party working president and Andhra Pradesh Education Minister Nara Lokesh launched a sharp attack on YSR Congress Party president and former chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy over allegations surrounding the Mega DSC-2025 teacher recruitment process.
Reacting strongly to Jagan’s post on X on Monday, Lokesh accused the previous YSRCP government of failing to fill even a single teacher post during its five-year tenure.
“I can understand Jagan’s pain and frustration. You better continue to cry, as we are coming out with yet another notification for teachers’ recruitment soon,” Lokesh said. He asserted that the former chief minister had no moral right to criticise the present government’s recruitment drive.
He alleged that no teacher recruitment notifications or job calendars were issued during the previous YSRCP government. In contrast, he claimed that the current coalition government had already filled 16,000 teacher posts and issued a job calendar for another 10,000 vacancies.
In a strongly worded attack, Lokesh accused Jagan of trying to cast suspicion on a transparent recruitment process. He alleged that the opposition was insulting thousands of candidates who had secured teaching jobs on merit after months of preparation and hard work.
Lokesh demanded that Jagan apologise to all selected candidates in the Mega DSC recruitment process. He also accused the former chief minister and his party of attempting to stall the recruitment drive through multiple court cases and by allegedly creating hurdles for companies such as Google and TCS, thereby discouraging investments and employment opportunities in the state.
“These attempts to stop investments and destroy employment opportunities for the youth will never be forgiven by the people of Andhra Pradesh,” Lokesh said.
Meanwhile, the Andhra Pradesh Fact Check Team and the School Education Department issued detailed clarifications defending the integrity of the Mega DSC-2025 recruitment process.
Officials clarified that the examinations were conducted through a highly transparent Computer-Based Test system with advanced digital security mechanisms.
Since the exams were conducted in multiple sessions using different question papers, leakage of question papers was “technically impossible,” the department said, adding that no complaints had been received regarding any leak.
The department also clarified the disqualification of candidate P. Naveen, stating that his candidature was cancelled under Rule 20(vi) because he appeared for the examination without prior permission and failed to attend certificate verification.
Authorities said that, following High Court directions, both the Grievance Redressal Committee and the State-Level Appeal Committee examined the matter and resolved the case according to established rules.
Officials highlighted that the entire Mega DSC-2025 recruitment process was completed within just 148 days of issuing the notification, describing it as a record achievement.
After the examinations concluded, the government released detailed merit lists containing candidates’ marks and rankings on August 22, 2025, before conducting certificate verification.
The government further clarified that no recruitment data had been deleted and that all digital records remained securely protected through multi-level verification systems.
The Education Department also rejected allegations regarding reservation implementation and appointment procedures.
It explained that all reservations and selections were made strictly according to prescribed norms, including the implementation of horizontal reservations for women, persons with disabilities and other reserved categories.
Authorities said posts were allotted entirely through an automated computer-based system based on the preferences submitted by candidates during the application process, leaving no scope for manipulation or rule violations.
The Director of School Education additionally stated that the appointment of the convener was carried out transparently and in accordance with government orders and service rules.
The department urged political parties and individuals not to spread “false narratives” about a recruitment process that had been conducted in a systematic and transparent manner.
