YSR Congress Party president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy has demanded the resignation of Andhra Pradesh Education Minister Nara Lokesh over alleged irregularities in the DSC examination process.
Referring to Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation over the NEET paper leak controversy, Jagan said the move had set a benchmark for political accountability under the NDA government.
He questioned whether the same standard would now be followed in Andhra Pradesh.
Jagan asked whether Lokesh would accept moral responsibility for the alleged irregularities in the DSC examination process, which involved nearly 3.5 lakh aspirants, and step down from his post.
He also questioned whether Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu would protect his son instead of upholding the standards of accountability that the NDA claims to support.
The remarks are expected to intensify the political confrontation between the YSRCP and the TDP-led coalition government over the conduct of the DSC examinations.
