Firebrand Bharatiya Janata Party MLA T. Raja Singh from the Goshamahal Assembly constituency in Hyderabad, who has been keeping away from BJP activities for quite some time, is said to be looking towards the Jana Sena Party headed by Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan.
Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan has indicated that his party will contest the upcoming elections in Telangana. Following the announcement, the Jana Sena cadre has reportedly begun preparations for the Greater Hyderabad elections.
The BJP, however, has made it clear that there will be no alliance with Jana Sena in the Telangana municipal elections and that the party intends to go it alone.
This has created a political situation different from Andhra Pradesh, where the BJP, TDP and Jana Sena are partners in the ruling alliance.
Amid these developments, Raja Singh’s recent remarks have triggered fresh political speculation, particularly over the future of Jana Sena in Telangana.
He suggested that Jana Sena should contest all possible seats in Telangana in the forthcoming municipal and Assembly elections.
More significantly, Raja Singh said that if Jana Sena strengthens itself in Telangana under the leadership of Pawan Kalyan, there could even be a possibility of Pawan becoming Chief Minister of the state in the future.
Raja Singh also claimed that people in Telangana had become disillusioned with both the BRS and Congress governments and were looking for an alternative.
According to him, Jana Sena enjoys considerable support in Telangana, particularly among the youth. He called upon Pawan Kalyan’s party to expand its organisational presence across the state and prepare seriously for the upcoming elections.
Raja Singh has also been openly expressing his views on several decisions within the Telangana BJP, adding another dimension to his latest comments.
His remarks have now triggered speculation over whether Raja Singh could be considering a more significant role in Jana Sena.
Political observers are interpreting his comments as a possible indication that he may be willing to play a role in the party if its leadership offers him an important responsibility.
However, there is still uncertainty over whether Pawan Kalyan would be willing to bring Raja Singh into Jana Sena, particularly when the BJP and Jana Sena continue to be alliance partners in Andhra Pradesh.
