The Bhogapuram International Airport event appeared to be dominated by Nara Lokesh. From the arrangements to the political visibility, the entire show seemed to revolve around the young TDP leader.
Lokesh was given considerable prominence throughout the programme, creating the impression that the event was designed to project him as the emerging face of the Telugu Desam Party and the Andhra Pradesh government.
However, something appeared politically unusual.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who has often spoken warmly about Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, did not appear to give him much attention this time. Pawan, who has repeatedly expressed deep admiration for Modi, seemed to remain on the sidelines during the high-profile event.
Even Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu did not appear to receive the level of importance normally expected at such a major programme in his own state.
This naturally raised questions in political circles. Was it merely part of the event protocol, or was there a deeper political message behind the visible prominence given to Lokesh?
Modi’s public gestures are rarely viewed as casual. His choice of words, body language and the leaders he acknowledges at important events are often closely analysed for possible political signals.
That is why the Bhogapuram visuals have become a subject of discussion. With Lokesh clearly enjoying the spotlight while Naidu and Pawan appeared relatively less prominent, observers are wondering whether the Prime Minister was silently indicating a change in political priorities.
It may be too early to draw firm conclusions. Still, in politics, even a small gesture can carry a larger message—and Modi’s every move is usually believed to have a purpose.
