Jana Sena Party chief and Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has once again fallen ill. Though he attended the Independence Day celebrations in Kakinada on Saturday morning, he skipped the “At Home” get-together hosted by Governor Abdul Nazeer at Lok Bhavan in Vijayawada.
The Deputy Chief Minister’s Office informed the Lok Bhavan authorities that Pawan Kalyan was unwell and would not be able to attend the programme on Saturday evening due to a high fever.
Pawan Kalyan had participated in the 80th Independence Day celebrations held in Kakinada on Saturday morning. After the event, he travelled to Rajamahendravaram, where he inaugurated the Central Craft Wood Bank established by the Forest Department.
However, as his fever reportedly worsened during the programme, Pawan curtailed his participation and left the venue midway. Doctors examined him in Rajamahendravaram and advised him to take complete rest. He later left for Hyderabad.
There was also speculation in media circles that Pawan Kalyan had avoided the “At Home” programme at Lok Bhavan to avoid meeting Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and his son Nara Lokesh.
The speculation gained traction as the Deputy Chief Minister had not attended some recent official programmes involving Naidu and Lokesh, including Cabinet meetings.
However, Jana Sena Party sources dismissed such speculation, saying Pawan Kalyan is yet to fully recover from a rotator cuff injury for which he recently underwent surgery. They also maintained that there was no communication gap between Pawan and Naidu.
“They shared the dais at the Bhogapuram airport inauguration and exchanged pleasantries,” party sources pointed out.
Doctors at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai had performed surgery on Pawan Kalyan’s right shoulder and advised him that full recovery could take several months. He was also advised to undergo physiotherapy and take adequate rest during the recovery period.
Following medical advice, Pawan had taken a short break from official engagements before recently resuming his busy schedule of government and public programmes.
With the latest bout of fever, officials in the Deputy Chief Minister’s Office said he would also seek further medical advice regarding the physiotherapy and rehabilitation regimen to be followed after the shoulder surgery.
